Salvia farinacea 'Victoria Blue' is a tender perennial more commonly grown as an annual that bears a striking resemblance to lavender, showcasing vibrant violet-blue flower spikes that rise above a foliage of narrow, fresh green leaves.

This compact and multi-branched cultivar blooms profusely from late spring to the first frosts. With its easy-to-grow nature and low maintenance, this seasonal stunner requires minimal deadheading and is a butterfly magnet. Also excellent for cut flower displays, and like other salvias, the plant is highly deer and rabbit resistant.

  • Garden care:
Grow on under glass until all risk of frost has passed and they can then either be planted outside into a well-prepared bed, or used to fill decorative pots on the patio.

Pinching out the growing tips will encourage them to become bushier, and feeding with a high-potash fertiliser at regular intervals throughout the summer will promote even more flowerspikes to form.
