This special form of Quercus palustris has an elegant neat and slender upright habit. The deeply lobed shiny green leaves emerge in spring giving the tree a smart green coat for the summer before turning a rich scarlet in autumn. Neater in habit and with more predictable autumn colour than other fastigiate oaks, this variety would make a stunning avenue tree or specimen tree where space is limited.

  • Garden care:
Requires minimal pruning. Remove any broken, diseased or crossing branches in late autumn or winter. When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole.

  • Please note: The decorative pot shown is not included and is for presentation purposes only. Our trees are supplied in standard nursery pots, and the images showing young trees in pots are intended to give an idea of our larger plant’s height and form on arrival. We do offer a wide range of decorative pots separately if you’d like to recreate the look, although for long-term success, trees are best planted in the ground.
