  • 'David Blais', a rex-type begonia has a metallic appearance with rich ruby-red to silvery-grey pointed leaves, making it a truly exceptional and standout specimen plant. Adorned with tiny, red hairs, the textural leaf stems add another layer of interest for this eye-catching houseplant.

We’re proud to support our British growers, and having been raised by one of our trusted UK nurseries, this indoor plant has a low carbon footprint, which makes it perfect for an eco-friendly collection or gift.

  • Home care:
Rex begonias require special care during the summer months. It's best to keep them in shaded areas and provide ample watering, ensuring proper drainage and maintaining a humid atmosphere around the plants. Avoid wetting the leaves or the crown.

As winter approaches, reduce the frequency of watering. Allow the compost surface to dry out before watering again. These begonias thrive with a minimum winter temperature of 13°C (55°F) across all varieties.

For optimal growth, feed them every two weeks from May to September using a high nitrogen fertiliser.
  • Humans/Pets: Ornamental bulbs - not to be eaten
