A slightly unusual form of the ever-popular spider plant, Chlorophytum comosum 'Ocean' has chunkier, shorter bright green leaves edged with a cream margin. As it matures it develops stems, each of which has a baby plant at its tip. These can be pegged down into compost, and when rooted the stems can be cut and you will have another plant for your friends and family! Very easy to grow, just place it in a well-lit spot, water and watch it grow!

Please note that the plant comes in a 12cm nursery pot as standard, unless a decorative pot cover is included as an option.

  • Home care:
Spider plant is low-maintenance but benefits from consistent care for best growth. Water freely during the active growing season in spring and summer, keeping the compost evenly moist, but reduce watering in winter to avoid soggy

Mist the foliage occasionally to raise humidity, especially in centrally heated rooms. Position in bright, indirect light and keep temperatures ideally between 60-75°F (16-24°C), avoiding drops below 46°F (8°C) in winter. Feed every 2-3 weeks with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser during the growing months to support strong foliage and offsets.

Repot when roots become congested, usually every couple of years, refreshing the compost to maintain nutrients and vigour.
