- Rate of growth: average
- Flowering period: July to October

Flowering continuously and profusely, the scarlet petals are tipped with yellow around a brick-red eye and bright golden stamens, smothering the fine, disease-resistant, thread-like foliage. Great for a real swarm of colour at the front of borders, or lining a path, Coreopsis ‘Ladybird’ just keeps on giving - as a compact and colourful perennial, or an excellent cut flower. Blooming marvellous!
Pot tickseed up into containers with a good quality general-purpose compost, or into ground enriched with a backfill of compost or well-rotted manure, at the same depth it was growing previously.
Spread a thick 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of leaf or garden compost around your newly planted perennial to protect the roots from frost, help to retain moisture around its roots and deter weeds from germinating.
Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering and water well during hot, dry spells. Cut the faded flower-stems back down to ground level in autumn and compost.
