Coreopsis verticillata 'Moonbeam' is a compact, long-flowering perennial that produces pale lemon-yellow, daisy-like flowers with darker centres from July to September. Its finely divided, fern-like foliage provides a delicate contrast to the bright blooms, which attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
Ideal for sunny borders or container displays, this easy-to-grow plant thrives in well-drained soil and prefers full sun but tolerates partial shade. Regular deadheading encourages continuous flowering, making it an excellent choice for extending seasonal colour in the garden.

Pot tickseed up into containers with a good quality general-purpose compost, or into ground enriched with a backfill of compost or well-rotted manure, at the same depth it was growing previously.
Spread a thick 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of leaf or garden compost around your newly planted perennial to protect the roots from frost, help to retain moisture around its roots and deter weeds from germinating.
Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering and water well during hot, dry spells. Cut the faded flower-stems back down to ground level in autumn and compost.
