Silky, silvery-yellow plumes rise above compact, mid-green foliage in summer, lasting well into autumn for long-lasting seasonal interest.
Unlike traditional pampas grasses, Cortaderia selloana 'Tiny Pampa' stays small, reaching just 60cm (24in) tall, making it ideal for small gardens, patio containers, or low-maintenance borders.
Its fountain-like evergreen foliage provides structure year-round, while the feathery flower heads add movement and texture. This hardy ornamental grass thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, tolerating coastal conditions and drought once established.
Popular with florists, the dried plumes make striking additions to floral arrangements. Easy to grow and low maintenance once established, 'Tiny Pampa' is the perfect choice for adding architectural interest without taking up too much space.

If planting ‘Tiny Pampa’ in a container, chose a loam-based multipurpose compost with added John Innes for a good balance of moisture retention and drainage.
Protect the crowns of young plants during the first winter with a deep, dry mulch. Each year in late-winter or early-spring remove the previous year's stems by cutting and combing.
Make sure you do wear stout gardening gloves when you are working with these plants as the leaves have sharp margins which can cut your hands.
