This vigorous ground hugging perennial produces masses of medium to dark flowers all through summer. 'Homestead Purple' is a brilliant plant for pots or window boxes, or simply spilling out from the front of a mixed border. The bees and butterflies will flock to this colourful little gem.


  • Garden care:
    Glandularia (verbena group) prefers a sunny, well-drained spot and thrives in light, fertile soil. Plant after the last frost, spacing about 25-30cm (10-12in) apart, and water in well. Keep soil moderately moist until established, then water only during dry spells.

    Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering, and pinch back stems to maintain a bushy habit. In colder regions, treat as an annual or grow in containers.
