Producing masses of large, lemon-yellow, daisy-like flowers up to 15cm (6in) across from July to September, these radiant sunflowers are ideal for providing a splash of colour towards the back of a sunny border.

Ideal for the novice or young gardener, if gathered while still in bud the flowers of Helianthus 'Lemon Queen' will also make long-lasting, contemporary cut flowers.

  • Garden care:
Whilst easy to grow, annual sunflowers in exposed situations may require staking or support. Water deeply but infrequently and feed sparingly to avoid prompting leaf growth over flowers. If you wish to harvest the seed, protect flower head with garden fleece to deter squirrels and birds, or cut the head and dry indoors.
