Helleborus × nigercors 'The Rockies Pike Peak' transforms woodland gardens and shady beds with its distinctive grey-silver leaves, each adorned with intricate venation patterns and delicately toothed margins that catch morning light beautifully.
Generous clusters of chartreuse blooms emerge alongside the remarkable foliage, creating refreshing splashes of colour when the garden palette remains predominantly dormant. These graceful flowers maintain their appeal for weeks rather than days, gradually developing subtle colour shifts that extend seasonal interest well into spring.
Particularly valuable for difficult north-facing sites, this resilient hybrid combines impressive cold hardiness with deer resistance.
Please note that the pot in the photograph is not supplied with the plant (which is sent out in a simple nursery alternative), but we have a wide and wonderful range on our website to choose from.

Add lots of well-rotted leaf mould or organic matter to the planting hole. Cut the old leaves back down to the ground in January or February as this will show off the new emerging flowers to best effect. It will also help to get rid of foliar diseases such as Hellebore leaf spot.
Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted organic matter around the base of the plant in autumn and provide a top-dressing of general fertiliser each spring.
