The bright pink-purple leaves of this heuchera are large, and they form a dense, semi-evergreen mound, which will offer colour to both border edges and pots. Then, in summer, upright branching stems arise, bearing sprays of small pink bells. Larger and faster growing than many other heucheras, 'Wild Rose' is easy to grow and it makes colourful groundcover.
Plant 30-45cm (12-18in) apart in moderately fertile, moist, but well-drained soil, incorporating compost to improve drainage and fertility. Keep well watered and remove tatty foliage in autumn.
Lift and divide clumps every couple of years in early autumn and re-plant with the crown just above the surface of the soil. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted organic matter around the base of the plant in spring.
