Sweetly scented, this lovely, soft mauve flowering hyacinth is a cottage garden favourite sure to add impact and fragrance to the spring garden. Ideal for displays 'Violetti Star' is perfect for growing in pots, and the waxy flowers work well as cut flowers in a vase.
Using gloves plant bulbs 10-15cm (4-6in) deep and 15cm (6in) apart in early or mid-autumn. These bulbs can also be grown in specialist bulb vases. Simply fill the vase with water up to its neck and then sit the bulb on top, making sure the base of the bulb is just above the water.
