Hailed as being more generous with its flowers than the species, this grass-like perennial provides excellent groundcover for a partially shaded border, while the purple-blue flowerspikes, which appear from late summer add a splash of late colour.
Use Liriope muscari 'Moneymaker' to line a path, fill gaps at the front of the border or form a generous swathe in a woodland setting.

Liriope thrives in well-drained soil with partial shade, though it can tolerate full sun. When planting in spring or autumn, space the plants 30-45cm (12-18in) apart to allow for their spreading habit.
Regular watering is important during the first few seasons to establish, after which time the plant becomes more tolerant to dry conditions. In early spring, cut back tired leaves to encourage fresh growth, and apply a 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds - this will also protect crowns in colder climates.
Every 3-4 years, lift and divide large clumps in spring to maintain vigour.
