Pea-like red and yellow flowers pop up in upright racemes from within a mass of palmate, pure-green leaves. 'Tequila Flame' is perfect for hot planting schemes and is a compact, clump-forming herbaceous perennial that blooms between June and July. - Garden care: Stake with bamboo canes or other natural supports in spring before the flowers appear, and deadhead the faded blooms to encourage a second flush of flowers. Protect young plants from slug and snail damage, and cover the crown of the plant with an insulating layer of organic mulch in autumn to prevent frost damage.
