This plant has been a favourite for many years now. Once it gets going it can be truly impressive with large, glossy heart-shaped leaves which as the plant matures become distinctive perforated and deeply cut leaves.
Please note that the pots in the photographs are not supplied with the plants, (which are sent out in simple nursery alternatives), but we have a wide and wonderful range on our website to choose from.

Keep your Monstera in a bright position, away from direct sunlight, which can scorch its leaves. It thrives in warm rooms with good natural light and appreciates occasional misting, especially when indoor air is dry. Wiping the leaves with a damp cloth helps keep them free from dust and maintains their glossy appearance.
Water regularly to keep the soil lightly moist, but never saturated — allow the top layer to dry out slightly before watering again. During winter, reduce watering and always check the compost first to avoid overwatering.
In the warmer months, you can water more freely as the plant grows more actively. With consistent light, warmth, and moderate humidity, the Swiss cheese plant will produce strong, healthy foliage and characteristic split leaves.
