The glossy green leaves of this relatively low-growing houseplant are rounded and have a slightly fleshy texture. They appear on long, slender stalks and form a loose, rounded dome, which looks quite structured. A handsome addition to a window ledge, shelf or work surface, Pilea peperomioides is also quite low-maintenance and easy to grow.

Please note that the plant comes in a nursery pot as standard, unless a decorative pot cover is included as an option.

  • Home care:
Water moderately in spring and summer, letting the top 2-3?cm (1in) of soil dry out between waterings, but reduce the frequency in winter to avoid root rot. Place in bright, indirect light and rotate occasionally to keep growth even.

Mist leaves regularly to boost humidity, especially in dry homes, and protect strong direct sunlight, which can scorch foliage. Feed monthly during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertiliser, and repot every 1-2?years to refresh compost and encourage healthy growth.
