Rounded green leaves, which have a copper flush when young, offer year-roud interest. It's in mid- to late spring however that this rhododendron really dazzles, as that's when the clusters of orange buds open to gently ruffled yellow flowers, many of which have a hint of apricot on their petals. An award-winning variety, it makes a sublime addition to a partially shaded border. - Garden care: Avoid planting too deeply. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of leaf mould around the base of the plant each spring.
- Humans/Pets: Harmful if eaten
