A very popular herb because it is so versatile in the kitchen, ‘Blue Lagoon’ is a neat, compact rosemary that would be perfect for a large patio pot or the border. In spring it has a profusion of dark blue flowers, and the aromatic foliage is excellent for all culinary endeavours. Grow in a sunny, sheltered position in well-drained soil, and try pairing it with the silvery leaves of Santolina and Eryngium.

  • Garden care: Ensure good drainage in the pot or soil area when planting by incorporating grit and working the ground on particularly heavy soils. Relatively maintenance free, to ensure a plentiful supply of young, succulent leaves for culinary use, gather the leaves regularly and prune each spring after flowering when the risk of frost has passed. Avoid hard pruning into old wood.
