Versatile and easy-to-grow, these bulbs are often one of the first to bloom in early spring, so it's not unusual to see their flowers emerging through a crust of snow. They are ideal for naturalising, and in time, they can form gorgeous swathes in alpine beds, gravel gardens or lawns. In smaller gardens, they are perfect for the patio, or for filling gaps at the front of the border.
In each collection you will receive the following:
- 50 × Scilla luciliae
An incredibly pretty, early spring flowering bulb, which produces open sprays of star-shaped, gentian blue flowers amongst the slender, strap-shaped foliage. Grows to 15cm. - 10 × Scilla 'Pink Giant'
Plant these liberally and you'll love the display of soft pink flowers that appear in early spring. Disease-resistant, easy to grow and very low maintenance, these bulbs can be left in the ground for several years, where they will spread to form a generous swathe. Grows to 15cm. - 20 × Scilla luciliae 'Alba'
A wonderful addition to pots or windowboxes, it will also flourish in rockeries, gravel gardens or borders. Although it's happiest in a sunny spot, it could also be used to underplant deciduous trees or shrubs, where it will receive all the sun it needs in early spring. Grows to 15cm.
