  • Garden care:
Lychnis thrives in well-drained soil, preferably in full sun or partial shade. Plant in a location where it can receive at least six hours of sunlight daily for optimal flowering. Before planting, enrich the soil with organic matter to ensure good soil health and improve heavier or lighter soils. Once established, this hardy perennial benefits from regular watering during dry spells to keep the soil consistently moist. Deadhead spent flowers to prolong blooming and trim back the plant after flowering to encourage a tidy shape and prevent self-seeding. In late autumn or early spring, cut back the foliage to ground level to prepare for new growth.
