This fantastic climber will grow in a flash, and produce lashings of dark-eyed white flowers over a prolonged period in summer and autumn. It's perfect for smothering an unsightly fence during the summer, or it can be trained onto an obelisk or arch if you want to create some height. An evergreen perennial, it can be overwintered in a heated conservatory, but more often than not, it is grown as an annual and replaced each year.
Pot up and grow on under glass until all risk of frost has passed and they can then either be planted outside into a well-prepared bed, or used to fill decorative pots and hanging baskets for the patio (9cm plants don’t need potting on but require initial frost protection). Pinching out the growing tips will encourage them to become bushier, and feeding with a high-potash fertiliser at regular intervals throughout the summer will promote even more flowers to form.
