This collection delivers a show-stopping mix of tall, trumpet-shaped lilies that bring drama, height, and fragrance to the garden. Expect bold, upright stems topped with large, eye-catching blooms in shades of white and pink, all with a heady, lingering scent. Perfect for sunny borders or as striking cut flowers, they provide a mix of elegance, colour contrast, and summer impact.
In this collection you will receive 1 bulb each of:
Lilium regale: One of the most popular varieties of lily, and it’s not hard to see why. The huge trumpet-shaped white flowers are flushed with pink, smell divine and and provide great wafts of scent throughout the garden when they are open. Alternatively bring them inside as cut flowers and they will fill your home home with their heady perfume. Grows to 1.5m.
Lilium regale 'Album': An incredibly popular variety with large, almost pure white trumpets with orange anthers, 'Album' is a form of Lilium regale, which does not have the pink flush to the outside of the petals, but it has retained every ounce of sumptuously strong scent of its parent. A great choice for white borders, and looks spectacular at night when the flowers really seem to glow. Grows to 1.5m
Lilium 'Pink Perfection': A beautiful lily with stout stems that bear large, scented, slightly nodding, trumpet-shaped flowers that are purple-pink with bright orange anthers. The gorgeous blooms are produced in midsummer and this is a great lily for the back of a sunny border. Universally loved for their big showy flowers, these lilies make excellent cut flowers. Grows to 2m.
Lilies can be planted at any time from early autumn to mid-spring. Planting in autumn often helps them settle in and become better established before they start to put on their new spring growth, but spring planting is a better option if your soil is heavy and wet during winter.
Choose a sunny spot, preferably where the plant receives a little light shade at its base, and plant each bulb 15-20cm (6-10in) deep in a well-drained soil, enriched with well-rotted organic matter or leaf mould. Space them at 15-30cm (6-12in) intervals and provide support before the flowers appear.
Deadhead the faded blooms promptly and cut the dead stems back to ground level at the end of autumn.
