Compact and reliable, this viola offers vibrant seasonal colour even in cooler conditions. Its velvety, deep purple blooms show slight tonal shifts that can appear burgundy in certain light with dark whisker-like markings fanning out from a bright golden centre.
Viola Sorbet XP Purple holds up well through mild frosts and performs consistently in beds, borders or containers. It’s ideal for annual winter and spring displays, with good weather resilience in sheltered spots. Bees are drawn to the flowers, and the compact habit makes it easy to maintain.

Pot-grown plants can be planted out or potted up into compost or well-drained, humus-rich soil that is neither frozen nor prone to waterlogging.
Keep well watered, and feed with a good, high potash fertiliser (such as Tomorite) on a regular basis. Pinching off the spent flowers will encourage more to form.
