The foliage of this colourful perennial are a mix of gold and brassy tones in summer, but as the temperatures drop, their colouring intensifies, taking on chocolate and olive green undertones. It's happiest in a lightly shaded spot, and it looks great when used to line a woodland path or border edge. Alternatively, pop × Heucherella 'Brass Lanterns' into a pot and enjoy it on the patio.
Plant 30-45cm (12-18in) apart in humus-rich, consistently moist but well-drained soil, ideally in part to full shade. Keep evenly watered and remove any tatty foliage in autumn.
Lift and divide clumps every couple of years in early autumn and re-plant with the crown just above the surface of the soil. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted organic matter around the base of the plant in spring.
