A decorative, early-flowering groundcover that is happiest in those difficult to fill, partially shaded positions beneath the canopy of trees and shrubs.
Pulmonaria 'Raspberry Splash' has silver-spotted foliage, which forms a neat mound that is topped with clusters of bell-shaped flowers in spring. When these flowers emerge from bud they are a rich shade of raspberry, but as they age they turn purplish and then almost blue - and the multicoloured effect is really pretty.

Plant Pulmonaria in moist, humus-rich soil in partial to full shade, setting the rootball level with the soil surface and watering well to settle it in. Keep the soil consistently damp through the growing season, especially in dry spells, and add a mulch of compost in spring to help the plant hold moisture and stay vigorous.
After flowering, tidy the plant by removing tired leaves to encourage a flush of fresh growth, and lift and divide congested clumps every three to five years to keep them healthy. If mildew appears, cut affected foliage right back to the base, then water and feed; new leaves will grow cleanly later in the season.
