A low-growing bulb with narrow, upright leaves and a flower spike with as many as ten star-shaped, cloudy white flowers, often with a faint blue stripe along the length of each petal. Gorgeous intermingled with cyclamen or snake's head fritillary, Puschkinia scilloides var. libanotica will naturalise areas under trees and shrubs if left undisturbed. Pop the RHS award-winning Lebanon striped squill in pots - they do well here too!

  • Garden care:
For potted plants, set them into the soil so the top of the rootball sits level with the surface, then firm gently and water well. Choose a sunny or lightly shaded spot with free-draining soil, and keep the ground evenly moist in their first spring while they establish.

For bulbs, plant them in autumn 5-10cm (2-4in) deep and roughly the same distance apart. They prefer well-drained soil and will settle in best if left undisturbed, gradually forming natural clumps over the years. A light mulch in late autumn or early spring helps protect the bulbs and maintain soil moisture.
    • Humans/Pets: Ornamental bulbs - not to be eaten
