Perfect for smaller spaces, Betula 'Fastigiata Joes' has a neat, narrow pyramidal habit. The small leaves and delicately twisting branches look particularly elegant against the characteristic white bark which usually develops in 3-5 years. Pretty catkins adorn the tree in spring and in autumn the leaves turn attractive shades of yellow before falling. Shortlisted for the Plant of the Year at Chelsea 2017.
Garden care: Requires minimal pruning. Remove any broken, diseased or crossing branches in late autumn or winter. When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake well.
