Petunia Surfinia Heavenly Blue quickly fills pots and baskets with a generous spill of colour that lasts right through the summer. It thrives in a sunny spot with regular watering and feeding, rewarding you with continuous flowering from late spring into autumn and creating an uplifting, long-lasting display that brings a calm, cool feel to patios and balconies.

Softly mounding before gently trailing over the edges, it carries masses of velvety, trumpet-shaped flowers in clear lavender-blue tones, each bloom slightly ruffled and set against fresh mid-green foliage. The habit is neat rather than rampant, making it a reliable choice for containers, window boxes, and hanging baskets where you want fullness without constant trimming.

Please note that the decorative pots or baskets in any photographs are not supplied with the plant (which is sent out in a simple nursery alternative), but we have a wide and wonderful range on our website to choose from.

  • Garden care:
Our bedding range and bedding collections (where available) are offered as seedlings, cuttings, and potted plants.

Pot up seedlings and cuttings and grow them on under glass until the risk of frost has passed. Once conditions are warmer, they can be planted directly into well-prepared beds, or used to fill patio pots, window boxes, and hanging baskets for long-lasting seasonal colour. Larger 9cm bedding plants don’t usually need potting on but will benefit from initial frost protection in spring.

To keep bedding plants looking their best, and where applicable, pinch out the tips to promote bushier growth and water regularly, especially in containers where compost dries out quickly. Feed with a high-potash fertiliser every couple of weeks to encourage continuous flowering. Deadhead faded blooms, as required, to extend the display and keep plants tidy, ensuring vibrant summer flowers from planting time right through to the first frosts.
