Cineraria ‘Silver Dust’ is a tender shrub with slightly lobed leaves, becoming deeply cut and lighter in colour as the season progresses.

Usually grown as an annual, this superb, silvery grey foliage plant is highly versatile and can be used to great effect, planted as a group lining the front of a border or offering excellent contrast to other summer bedding plants in pots and containers.

  • Garden care:
Our bedding range and bedding collections (where available) are offered as seedlings, cuttings, and potted plants.

Pot up seedlings and cuttings and grow them on under glass until the risk of frost has passed. Once conditions are warmer, they can be planted directly into well-prepared beds, or used to fill patio pots, window boxes, and hanging baskets for long-lasting seasonal colour. Larger 9cm bedding plants don’t usually need potting on but will benefit from initial frost protection in spring.

To keep bedding plants looking their best, and where applicable, pinch out the tips to promote bushier growth and water regularly, especially in containers where compost dries out quickly. Feed with a high-potash fertiliser every couple of weeks to encourage continuous flowering. Deadhead faded blooms, as required, to extend the display and keep plants tidy, ensuring vibrant summer flowers from planting time right through to the first frosts.
