The collection contains one each of the plants listed below, each in a 9cm pot.
Clematis montana var. grandiflora: Exquisite, pure white, late spring and early summer flowers with yellow centres and dark green leaves. This extremely vigorous clematis is excellent for training over a pergola or covering an unsightly wall, fence or garden shed. It's an ideal climber for a north-facing site. Grows to 10m.
Clematis 'Henryi': Large, creamy-white flowers, with chocolate brown anthers, are produced throughout the summer on this vigorous clematis. It is perfect for growing up a trellis with other climbers or to cover a wall. To encourage blooms to cover the whole plant, train stems so that they are evenly spaced on the trellis. Grows to 3m.
Clematis 'Madame Julia Correvon': From mid-summer to late autumn, wine red star-shaped flowers, with yellow anthers, cover the plant. It is a more compact cultivar which makes it perfect for growing in a container. As with most clematis of the viticella group it also shows good resistance to clematis wilt. Grows to 3m.
Clematis cirrhosa var. purpurascens 'Freckles': Boasting scented, bell-like, cream winter flowers heavily speckled inside with reddish-brown spots Clematis cirrhosa var. purpurascens 'Freckles' is a striking evergreen climber. To fully appreciate the distinctive freckle-like markings of the exotic-looking flowers, try training it over a sunny pergola or arch. Grows to 4m.
To avoid dry conditions, and to ensure good soil contact around the rootball, we advise planting climbers at least 30cm (12in), and preferably 45-60cm (18-24in) away from the base of a wall or fence. An even larger distance should be maintained when planting climbers beside an existing tree or shrub.
