A burst of rich purple and pink tones makes this a real standout for pots and summer bedding schemes, as well as a wonderfully aromatically pot plant.

Pelargonium ‘Angeleyes Blueberry’ forms a neat, bushy mound of crisped green foliage with a light lemon scent, topped from late spring to autumn with velvety blooms in deep purple, each petal edged in soft lavender-pink. The flowers are held freely above the compact plant, creating a dense, colourful canopy that keeps going from May through to October. Its upright, tidy habit makes it ideal for patio containers, window boxes or sunny borders, and it’s just as happy brightening a conservatory or windowsill indoors.

Heat tolerant and easy to grow in well-drained compost, it needs plenty of light and simple deadheading to keep the flowers coming.

  • Garden care:
Pot up in free-draining compost and grow them on in a bright, frost-free spot. Move plants outside only after all risk of frost has passed, placing them in a sunny, sheltered position. Water regularly, allowing the surface to dry slightly between waterings, as they dislike being constantly wet. Remove faded flowers and yellowing leaves to keep plants tidy and to encourage more blooms.

Feed every couple of weeks through the growing season with a dilute high-potash fertiliser such as Tomorite to support flowering. Pinch back leggy growth to maintain a bushy shape, and bring plants back indoors before autumn frosts if you wish to overwinter them.
