A stunning hybrid variety with a bushy, upright, habit. ‘Winston Churchill’ flowers throughout the later summer with double, reflexed, pink sepals and bluish-lavender petals, veined with pink. Equally at home in a pot by the beach, or in the air, cascading from a hanging basket, the glossy green foliage and vibrant flowers make it a popular choice for gardeners who want to add a touch of elegance to their outdoor spaces.

  • Garden care:
Our bedding range and bedding collections (where available) are offered as seedlings, cuttings, and potted plants.

Pot up seedlings and cuttings and grow them on under glass until the risk of frost has passed. Once conditions are warmer, they can be planted directly into well-prepared beds, or used to fill patio pots, window boxes, and hanging baskets for long-lasting seasonal colour. Larger 9cm bedding plants don’t usually need potting on but will benefit from initial frost protection in spring.

To keep bedding plants looking their best, and where applicable, pinch out the tips to promote bushier growth and water regularly, especially in containers where compost dries out quickly. Feed with a high-potash fertiliser every couple of weeks to encourage continuous flowering. Deadhead faded blooms, as required, to extend the display and keep plants tidy, ensuring vibrant summer flowers from planting time right through to the first frosts.
