Iris 'Silvery Beauty' looks particularly effective planted in generous drifts through borders or left to develop into larger clumps in naturalistic schemes, and its flowers also hold well when cut for arrangements.

Plant Iris hollandica bulbs around 10cm (4in) deep and 10cm (4in) apart in September or October, choosing a sunny, well-drained spot where they won’t sit in frequent wet soil conditions.
Set them out in loose, naturalistic drifts rather than straight lines for a softer look, and once planted, leave them undisturbed so they can settle and bulk up; they prefer relatively dry conditions over winter and benefit from a light mulch only if your soil is very free-draining.
