Forming slowly spreading rosettes of rich green leaves, this moisture-loving perennial looks beautiful in early summer when the poker-like flowerspikes are jettisoned upwards and the pure white flowers start to open. It looks wonderful when planted in meandering drifts - particularly when teamed with ferns or hostas. Each plant may be short-lived, however in the right conditions, it will usually spread to form naturalised colonies. - Garden care: Divide large clumps after the plant has flowered, preferably during a wet spell.
