Nodding, bell-shaped white flowers, each with green tips, top upright stems in early spring. Closely related to the snowdrop, this is a later-flowering, taller option that looks wonderful when naturalised in bold drifts throughout a lawn, or allowed to clump up in pockets towards the front of the border.
Leucojum vernum prefer reliably moist (but not waterlogged) soils, so are ideal for planting on the upper banks of a pond.

Plant summer snowflake bulbs in autumn about 10cm (4in) deep and 8-10cm (3-4in) apart in moist, well-drained soil, ideally in full sun or partial shade. They prefer soil that stays cool and damp, making them ideal for borders, woodland edges, or near water.
Water well after planting and keep the soil evenly moist, especially during dry spells in spring. Allow the foliage to die back completely after flowering to feed the bulbs for next year’s growth, and avoid cutting back too early.
Once clumps become congested, lift and divide them in late summer or early autumn.
