With its branches smothered in short tubular, vivid yellow flowers, Forsythia 'Lynwood Variety' is a medium-sized, spring-flowering deciduous shrub. Grouped together, this award-winning woody perennial is a great choice for a hedging plant. The flowers appear before the bright green leaves, covering the plant in a fine cloth of gold.

Plant in well-drained soil and a sunny or lightly shaded spot, where it will establish quickly and give the best display of spring flowers. Water regularly during dry spells in the first year to help roots settle, and mulch in spring to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.
Prune/trim hedges in late spring immediately after flowering, buds for the following year develop soon after flowering (check for nesting nesting birds prior to cutting) and mulch with a thick layer of organic matter after this. Trim the hedge for form in late July or August.
