Considered by many to be the best Cercis on the market, this stunning new redbud, 'Eternal Flame', is a compact, deciduous tree with leaves that are bright, glossy red, aging to a smoky, burnt orange and eventually turning yellow. As the new foliage develops throughout the growing season, this warm tonal tapestry of colours just keeps flowing, while the small pink flowers that appear along the stems in early spring add another dimension to the display.
Rightly awarded Chelsea Flower Show Plant of the Year in 2021, it makes a superb specimen for a small garden, either in a pot or sheltered spot in a border.

When planting, add some soil conditioner (well-rotted compost) to the planting hole and some mycorrhizal fungi to aid root establishment.
Ensure the top of the plant's compost is flush with the level of the surrounding soil and the collar of the tree is above ground level.
Support taller specimens either with a bamboo cane and or stake during establishment. Water generously around the base of the plant.
