Spires of deepest blue and pale, moonlit white, emerge above a verdant cushion of mid-green foliage. Salvia farinacea 'Sea of Butterflies' attracts insects and gardeners alike, with blooms lasting from summer until the first frosts. Either mass plant at the front of borders or pop into pots and containers for a long-lasting summer bedding display.

    Garden care:
Pot up and grow on until all risk of frost has passed and they can be planted outside.

Pinch out the growing tips to encourage bushier growth and keep well watered. Feed with a good, high potash fertiliser (such as Tomorite) on a regular basis and pinch off the spent flowerspikes to encourage more to form.
