  • Position: full sun or partial shade
  • Soil: any well-drained, moderately fertile soil (for container-grown bulbs use two parts John Innes No.2 compost to one part sharp grit)
  • Rate of growth: average
  • Flowering period: usually April to May
  • Hardiness: fully hardy

This gorgeous arrangement will look great on a windowsill or mantelpiece. It consists of three blue flowering hyacinths, which not only look good, but will help fill the room with their sweet perfume, and a dressing of green moss.

Supplied potted up in a 8.5cm wide x 23cm long ceramic silver bowl, after they have finished flowering, hyacinths can be planted outside in the garden, where they will go on to flower year after year in spring, and the ceramic bowl can be reused.

Please note: These hyacinths will be planted up, but the amount of top growth they will have developed will depend upon the time of the year and the growing season.

  • Garden care:
Be careful not to over water indoor containers without drainage as the bulbs will rot. Push your finger into the compost and only add more water if it feels dry (rather than moist or damp). If lifting and reusing the bulbs for outdoor use, wear gloves and transplant after leaves have died back into a full sun or partially shaded spot in moist, but well-drained soil.
