Flowering for several months from late winter, the small faces of these pretty violas will bring lots of cheer to your pots, windowboxes and hanging baskets. They are incredibly prolific and will produce masses and masses of their dainty little flowers in a rich, velvety mix of colours. In time, Viola Teardrops F1 Mixed will cascade over the edge of the pots, forming a trail up to 35cm (14in) long.
Seedlings should be potted up and grown on in a frost-free environment, such as well-lit windowsill or unheated greenhouse.
Pot-grown plants however can be planted out or potted up into compost or well-drained, humus-rich soil that is neither frozen nor prone to waterlogging.
Keep well watered, and feed with a good, high potash fertiliser (such as Tomorite) on a regular basis. Pinching off the spent flowers will encourage more to form.
Protect young plants from slug damage using natural barriers such as coarse grit, copper bands, or other non-chemical solutions that are available in our slug and snail control selection.
