Highly prized for their showy flowers, lilies come in a variety of shapes, colours and sizes. The lilies in this collection all produce white flowers, which will look wonderful in midsummer when planted in borders or pots- although their flowers will also last well when cut for the vase.

Originating from temperate regionsthroughout the Northern Hemisphere where they are found growing in woodland, scrub and open meadows, lilies thrive in moist, preferably neutral to acidicsoils that are rich in organic matter.

In this collection you will receive 1 bulb each of:

  • Lilium regale: One of the most popular varieties of lily, and it’s not hard to see why. Thehuge trumpet-shaped white flowers are flushed with pink, smell divine andprovide great wafts of scent throughout the garden when they are open. Growsto 1.5m.

  • Lilium regale 'Album':An incredibly popular variety with large, almost pure white trumpets withorange anthers. This is a form of Lilium regale which does not have thepink flush to the outside of the petals, but has retained every ounce ofthe sumptuously strong scent of its parent. A great choice for whiteborders, and looks spectacular at night when the flowers really seemto glow. Grows to 1.5m.

  • Lilium longiflorum 'Bright Diamond':This stunning Asiatic lily produces upright stems topped with large,upward-facing pure white blooms accented by a subtle green eye, making it astandout feature in borders, rockeries, or containers. Grows to 1m.

  • Garden care:
Lilies can be planted at any time from early autumnto mid-spring. Planting in autumn often helps them settle in and becomebetter established before they start to put on their new spring growth, butspring planting is a better option if your soil is heavy and wet during winter.

Choose a sunny spot, preferably where the plant receives a little light shadeat its base, and plant each bulb 15-20cm (6-8in) deep in a well-drained soil, enriched with well-rotted organic matter or leaf mould. Space them at15-30cm (6-12in) intervals and provide support before the flowers appear.

Deadhead the faded blooms promptly and cut the dead stems back toground level at the end of autumn.
    • Humans/Pets: Ornamental bulbs - not to be eaten
