Producinng bicoloured flowers with creamy-white petals and a yellow trumpet,Narcissus lobularis is a wild daffodil rather than a cultivated variety, which will give a more naturalistic effect when planting in open woodland or grassy meadows.
Being a species daffodil, it may be slightly more erratic at producing flowers than other daffodils, but they are much more tolerant of shady positions.

Wearing gloves plant bulbs 10-15cm (4-6in) deep and 10cm (4in) apart in autumn. After flowering feed with a balanced fertiliser, deadhead the flowers, but do not be tempted to cut back or tidy the foliage after flowering as this will interfere with the bulbs’ ability to store energy for the following year's flowers.
