The flowers of this distinctive clematis are a rich pinkish-red, but what's unusual is that they may appear as singles, semi-doubles or fully double heads, each growing up to 15cm across. The rich green foliage has a slightly lustrous finish, which sets off the flowers beautifully, and being relatively compact, it's ideal for pots. - Garden care: Remove dead and damaged stems before growth begins in early spring, cutting all remaining stems back to where strong buds are visible. Apply a slow-release balanced fertiliser and a mulch of well-rotted garden compost around the base of the plant in early spring.
- Humans: Skin irritant; Pets: Harmful if eaten
