This award-winning perennial forms a dense mound of dark green leaves, which in late spring and early summer, is smothered with masses of reddish pink, star-shaped flowers. A great little plant for the alpine bed or edging the front of a (mainly) sunny border, it can also be used on the terrace and planted in gaps between paving slabs. - Garden care: Give it a trim after the flowers have faded and lift and divide clumps in autumn.
